Connecting Coloradans in our nation’s capital.
The Colorado State Society is a social organization for Coloradans who are living in the Washington, D.C. area. We are a non-profit, non-partisan social and civic organization open to all who share a love for the Centennial State.
What is a State Society?
The National Conference of State Societies (NCSS) was charted by Congress on April 3, 1952 when President Harry Truman signed Public Law 82-293 (36 U.S.C. 1505). NCSS is the umbrella organization for all state societies whose members include state and territorial expatriates including students, members of the military, active and retired lobbyists and government workers, members of Congress and staff living in the national capital region.
The association’s goals are to promote friendly and cooperative relations between the State and societies in the District of Columbia; to foster, participate in, and encourage educational, cultural, charitable, civic, and patriotic programs and activities in the District of Columbia and surrounding communities; and to act liaison between States and national programs. These include nonpartisan political activities, social, and civic events.
We strive to bring Coloradans together through social events like happy hours, networking events, sports watch parties, and more!
